School bus crashes into Florida home after vehicle runs through stop sign

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A school bus crashed into a Florida home after a vehicle slammed into the bus around 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to NBC affiliate WESH.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a vehicle was approaching the intersection of Southwest 31st Avenue Road and Marian Oaks Trail in Marion County and failed to stop at a stop sign.

That’s when the vehicle hit the right side of the bus, sending it crashing into a house.

“I heard a big boom,” the owner said. That’s when the front of the bus got stuck in their bedroom window.

The school bus was apparently on its way to pick up students attending summer classes. Authorities said no students were on the bus when the accident occurred.

The FHP said minor injuries were reported.
