Sergeant Slaughter Says WWE Should Have Offered Him a Billion Dollar Contract to Manage Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans was a major heel in WWE during her tenure in the company. Her on-screen persona borrowed heavily from Sgt. Slaughter, a decision that did not sit well with the WWE legend.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Sgt. Slaughter revealed that WWE offered him a role as manager for former WWE Superstar Lacey Evans. Slaughter rejected the offer, calling it “slap in the face.”

“They wanted me to come in and run it, but I saw the contract and I said, ‘This is a slap in the face.’ I should be getting a billion-dollar contract just for what I’ve done for your company. But then you send me a contract that I wouldn’t have wiped my ass on if I was that kind of guy. As a professional, I just called and said, ‘I’m not interested in this, but if you want to find a little more money that would allow me to retire from this company, then I’ll think about coming back. But until then, I’m not coming back.

Regarding Lacey Evans’ use of the Cobra Clutch as a finishing weapon, Sergeant Slaughter stated that he did not approve.

“That’s when I reacted and said (to WWE), ‘Hey, I own this move. I don’t want you to use it anymore.’ I didn’t mean to be mean or hurt her feelings, I just said, “This is not what the Cobra Clutch is supposed to be. This is supposed to be the end. This is the end of the story.” Just like “Hey D-Von, take the tables.” That’s the end of the story.”

Lacey Evans finally left WWE last year. She now has multiple sources of income, including a construction business with her husband and premium content behind a paywall.

Whether Lacey Evans will return to the ring remains to be seen. She hasn’t ruled out the possibility, but for now, her future in wrestling is uncertain. Sgt. Slaughter is unlikely to be involved with her if she does return.
