Michelle Obama breaks silence on reported rift with Biden family: ‘Two things may be true’

The report published by Axios, citing anonymous sources familiar with the situation, provides details on how Michelle Obama has been absent from Biden’s re-election campaign and has expressed her displeasure over the divorce.

In his 2021 memoir, Beautiful Things, Hunter Biden discussed the bond between Michelle Obama and Buhle, stating that the two “worked out together at the gym and often had evening cocktails at the White House, during formal and informal events.

According to Carson, Michelle Obama fully supports Biden’s re-election campaign, while he is expected to run against former President Donald Trump.

The spokesperson also pointed out that Jill Biden recently attended a memorial service for Michelle Obama’s mother.

A White House spokesperson also dismissed rumors of a rift between the Obama and Biden families. “The Biden and Obama families are like family to each other, and whoever made these statements about this relationship doesn’t know about it,” Andrew Bates said.

Kathleen Buhle and Hunter Biden

Buhle, who testified in Hunter Biden’s federal gun trial in which a Delaware jury convicted him, married the president’s son in 1993. The couple share three children — Finnegan, 23, Maisy , 23, and Naomi, 30, and they filed for divorce in 2016.

In his memoir If We Break, published in 2022, Buhle claims that Hunter Biden’s drug addiction and infidelity caused the breakdown of their marriage. In 2019, she filed a lawsuit against him, alleging he neglected to pay her overdue bills, interest, and alimony since their relationship ended.

Last month, Hunter Biden was convicted of three gun-related crimes after prosecutors said he lied to them about drug use when he bought a gun in 2018.
