Hugh Grant Fans Shocked By ‘Latest Phase Of His Career’ As Creepy Villain In A24’s New Horror Film

Hugh Grant fans have reacted to first glimpses of the beloved British actor playing against their jobs as the villain in A24’s upcoming religious horror filmHeretic.

Reactions on X/Twitter were equally enthusiastic about Grant’s new role, with one user writing: “I’m totally here for the latest phase of Hugh Grant’s career, taking his dandy rom-com charm and channelling it into snarky maniacs. HERETIC speaks my language.”

In the trailer, Grant is seen capturing the two young women before telling them, “I won’t hold you back if you want to leave, but I want you to choose which door you go through based on your faith.”

He is then seen writing the words “BELIEF” and “DESCRIBED” in chalk on two doors.

Heretic is written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who made their name writing their screenplay for John Krasinski’s 2018 horror film. A silent place.
