Bukayo Saka sends message to Tottenham after Arsenal win against Chelsea

Bukayo Saka wants to move forward after Tuesday's big win against Chelsea

Bukayo Saka said all eyes are now on Sunday’s north London derby against Tottenham after helping Arsenal demolish fellow city rivals Chelsea 5-0 on Tuesday.

Doubles from Ben White and Kai Havertz after Leandro Trossard’s fourth-minute opener gave the Gunners five goals in a game for the seventh time this season, extending their lead to four points over Manchester City with a 12-goal difference having played two games more.

Liverpool could get back level on points with a Merseyside derby win over Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday while City face Brighton a day later. Arsenal have just four games left but face tough tests at Spurs and Manchester United in the running-in phase.

If Man City win their final six matches against Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham, they will be crowned champions for an unprecedented fourth consecutive season. However, an error will hand the initiative back to Arsenal, who also have a superior goal difference to Liverpool.

Saka hinted at the importance of Sunday’s game against Spurs when he took to social media after full-time play against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium. After posting a picture of himself with Trossard in the dressing room, he wrote on Instagram: “My man @leandrotrossard! Now let’s lock in for Sunday.”

Arsenal are unbeaten in three matches against Tottenham, having drawn 2-2 with them at home in September. The last defeat came in a 3-0 away defeat in May 2022, their only defeat in their last six meetings.
