2 NJ spas offered sex in addition to massages, cops say

The owner of two spas in Ocean County has been charged with running prostitution houses out of the businesses, officials said.

Kani Peng, 53, of Egg Harbor Township. employed women who were selling sex to customers at Rainbow Spa in Barnegat and Bay Spa in Stafford between October 2023 and this month, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday.

Women were living at both businesses and Peng was seen bringing food, clothing and cleaning supplies into both locations, officials said.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Peng’s home and on June 19 found additional evidence that prostitution was occurring at the spas.

Peng is charged with promoting prostitution, maintaining a nuisance, financial facilitation and engaging in prostitution.

She declined to comment when reached at the Bay Spa on Thursday.
