Bandits storm New York restaurant, rob diners as crowd watches: cops

Two brazen bandits stormed a crowded Brooklyn restaurant and robbed three diners at gunpoint while a horrified dinner crowd looked on, according to police and a report.

The duo rushed into Williamsburg’s Birds of a Feather Chinese restaurant with a gun and demanded a $200 Seiko watch and phones from three customers around 9:35 p.m., in full view of all other customers, said the police.

The robbers then fled west on a moped on Grand Street with the bounty, according to New York police.

Police said investigators later located and recovered three iPhones at an address on North 11th Street.

The victims were all men in their 20s, police said.

Entrees at the restaurant on Grand Street, near Bedford Avenue, range from $18 to $35, according to its website.

Owner Xian Zhang told Eater that the restaurant was full of diners when the theft occurred.

“It was very brazen,” he said. “Luckily no one was hurt.”

This disturbing crime comes after two armed robbers stole a watch worth $100,000 from a man outside the popular Carbone restaurant in Manhattan on June 18.

The perpetrators of both incidents were still missing on Thursday, police said.

Birds of a Feather did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
