Shafali Verma’s double century in the ongoing one-off Test match between India Women and South Africa Women at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai was a historic feat. She became the second woman cricketer to reach this milestone after Mithali Raj.

Unfortunately, her round ended in a run-out due to a mix-up with Jemimah Rodrigues. After hitting a long ball to the middle of the line, Rodrigues called for a quick single. Shafali hesitated but finally decided to give it a go, but she was caught just before her crease.

A direct pass to the keeper led to the balls being quickly cleared away. The TV umpire confirmed the out, which showed Shafali well short of the crease.

Despite a disappointing finish, Shafali returned to applause from her teammates, and even the Proteas players showed their appreciation for her remarkable knock.
