Celebrity Series of Boston Announces 2024-25 Neighborhood Arts Season

Boston’s Celebrity Series has released details for its 2024-25 Neighborhood Arts season.

Neighborhood Arts is partnering with the Mission Hill Arts Festival for the third year this summer to present free concerts and arts education events across Boston. In a press release, Robin Baker, associate director of community engagement, said, “We invite you to experience the rich cultural diversity of Neighborhood Arts’ 2024-25 season, featuring dynamic live performances ranging from global flamenco to Indigenous circle dancing. Join us for an inclusive celebration of art by renowned artists, free to all, forging connections and fostering community in neighborhoods across Greater Boston. This season, we are not just spectators; we are participants in a shared experience through the universal language of creativity. Come be a part of something extraordinary.”

Zakiyyah opens the festival with a diverse lineup of opera, hip-hop, jazz, R&B and gospel.

Date of performance: July 6, 2024 (The courtyard of the Tobin Community Center)

The Boston City Singers present “Race and Song: A Musical Conversation,” featuring singers Reggie Harris and Alistair Moock.

Date of performance: December 7, 2024 (Kroc Center of the Salvation Army)

Castle of our Skins Wind Quintet performs works by composers Brian Raphael Nabors, Damien Geter and Fred Onovwerosuoke.

Performance date: March 1, 2025 (Bethel AME Church)
