Popular rock frontman announces cancer diagnosis as band cancels tour

Lou Koller, the leader of the popular punk rock band I am fed up with everything, took to social media on Friday to announce that he is engaged in a serious health battle.

“What’s up, everybody?” Koller said in a video posted to the band’s Instagram page. “Lou here. As you may or may not know, we had to cancel our entire European tour this summer. There are rumors flying around as to why, and we’re here to set the record straight, but we wanted to wait until we had all the information before making an announcement.”

That’s when he realized what he was up against.

“The reason it was canceled is because they found a tumor in my esophagus that goes to my stomach, and I’m going to have to have treatment all summer,” he said. “Of course, I had the full support of the band. As soon as they heard it, they said forget about the tour. Just get back in shape.”

“We’re really sorry,” he added. “I’m sorry to the fans. Our whole team was counting on… we were going to have another fun summer together, all the promoters. Everybody who knows has been very supportive. That’s the reason. No other reason you’ve heard is the truth. That’s the truth. So yeah, thank you for your love and support. Hopefully we’ll get through this and see each other at the end of the summer, or… maybe in the winter.”

The fans have been very encouraging.

“Lou, NEVER APOLOGIZE for taking the time to take care of yourself,” one person replied. “You will get through this and come back stronger. Sending you so much love!”

“I’m so sorry to hear this news,” wrote another. “I’m so glad you’re staying home to take care of yourself! You got this! Sending lots of love, strength and courage! There is no doubt that you are truly built to last.

There were many other responses like this and you can see them, along with Koller’s video, here.
