Meet Kevin, the World’s Tallest Dog – InspireMore

Great Danes are big dogs. We all know the lanky animals from movies, cartoons, and comics. We usually describe this breed as gentle giants, which is accurate if you’ve ever known a Great Dane personally. Guinness World Records recently crowned a new holder of the title of world’s tallest dog. Meet Kevin, the Great Dane named after Kevin from Alone at home movie franchise.

Kevin is three years old and lives with his family in West Des Moines, Iowa. For dogs, the measurement is from “foot to withers,” which is the top of the shoulder in human terms. Kevin is actually taller than 3 feet 2 inches if you count his head! He’s the same height as Tracy and Roger Wolfe’s children, Alexander and Ava. They live in a rural area, so Kevin has plenty of room to roam and play with the little critters. Among his “family,” Kevin also has three siblings, dogs, and four cats, and the family also has goats, chickens, and horses.

The official award for the world’s largest dog was announced on March 20, 2024. In an interview with GWR, Tracy said, “I don’t think he’s aware of how big he is. He’s constantly trying to squeeze into little beds and sit on us and do all the things that little dogs do.” Basically, Kevin thinks he’s a lap dog, and you’re not going to convince him otherwise.

Like this Great Dane with his little foster kittens, Kevin is gentle when playing with smaller animals. Alexander keeps busy attending training classes with Kevin and practicing the commands. Even though Kevin is several times bigger, one thing terrifies him: the vacuum cleaner!
