Horrible brawl breaks out at Grand National, Ladies Day race spectators shocked and in tears

A huge brawl broke out on National Ladies’ Day, with spectators throwing punches at each other in front of stunned onlookers.

The shocking scenes were witnessed on the second day of the Grand National Festival at Aintree, when a group of young men fought in the middle of a huge crowd.

Stunning footage from the racecourse shows a man in a suit with blood around his mouth, appearing to line up a punch at another man, who raises his hand, Wales Online reports.

A second photo shows one man punching another in the side of the head as others cling to the ground behind them. A third shows several men engaged in a scuffle.

The shocking scenes are not uncommon as there have been several outbreaks of drunken violence among a small minority of the crowd at Aintree in recent years.

In December, footage emerged showing punters punching and kicking each other in front of racecourse security guards.

Away from the violence, thousands of racing fans gathered at the racecourse for one of the most famous days in the sporting calendar.

The runners pulled out all the stops showing off their striking hats and brightly colored dresses while enjoying the action.

The Grand National is set to get underway at 4pm on Saturday with tens of thousands of fans expected at Aintree for the iconic steeplechase as Conach Rambler aims to make it two consecutive National victories.
