Bengals RB underrated in new rankings

The Cincinnati Bengals have high hopes for their running back in 2024 despite the departure of Joe Mixon.

It’s not hard to see why. Newcomer Zack Moss is more versatile and seemed poised to replace Jonathan Taylor on the Colts last year. Chase Brown was explosive and had huge potential as a rookie for the Bengals as well.

Despite this positive trend, the Bengals team as a whole ranks just 30th in Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema’s positional unit rankings:

The Bengals signed Zack Moss this offseason to replace Joe Mixon, who the team traded to the Texans. Moss posted consistent rushing grades in the 70.0s in each of his four seasons with a healthy yards per carry average around 4.0.

It feels like the room is a bit underrated based on what Moss was able to do last season – and projecting that into a Joe Burrow-led offense.

Yet this new-look room was always going to face an uphill battle in terms of outside perception. The Bengals put him together for a reason as the offense shifts to more center looks, so there’s a good chance the room rating will be higher this time next year.
