Shock at wedding ceremony at Lagos airport (PHOTOS)

Airport commuters were stunned on Saturday when a couple, Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola, took their wedding vows at Terminal II of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA2) in Lagos State.

DAILY POST reports that the terminal is operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL).

The barricaded section of the wedding departure area could only accommodate 50 guests during the ceremony.

BASL Chief Operating Officer, Mr Kola Bamigboye, told NAN that the wedding, which was the first of its kind at the airport, was aimed at showing the world that MMA2 is more than just a terminal.

He hopes that with the success of the wedding ceremony, more people will choose to get married at airports.

“We like to bring people together. Either you travel through our terminal or you come here to solidify your love,” he said.

Ms Monica Oguta, Head of Aviation Security of BASL, said the marriage was an opportunity to create value for the airport terminals.

Asked if the couple were airport staff, Oguta said: “They are just Nigerians who thought it was a good idea.

“I started toying with the idea of an airport wedding a few years ago and when the opportunity presented itself, we took it. »

NAN reports that the couple exchanged wedding vows and rings at the terminal.

The wedding was officiated by Mrs. Oluwabukunmi Aminu, Vow Coordinator.

A passenger, Mrs Abigail Babatunde, said she had never witnessed such a wedding before.
