Owen Park Community Centre Holds Grand Reopening

TULSA, Okla. — The Owen Park Community Center has reopened its doors to showcase all new features.

Celebrating its inauguration with belly dancing and tours of the new facility.

Rowen Hutchins recently moved to the area and attended the grand reopening.

“I’m really excited to see how excited everyone is to use this brand new space. It’s really beautiful, this gym is really nice,” Hutchins said.

After the space was closed for 10 years, Tulsa Parks began renovating it for the community.

Hutchins told 2 News what she was most looking forward to.

“I think the fitness room is really nice. I like that they have several different rooms that people can use for their own things,” Hutchins said.

The community center has pickleball nets and a craft room for children.

Kirk Mace of Tulsa Parks said he was happy to have them back in business.

“We’re just happy and excited to give something back to the community in this area,” Mace said.

Hutchins said she is excited about the potential of community spaces.

“You don’t see these spaces used in their entirety, so I think it’s really nice to see that they’re renovating that and doing this grand reopening. »
