LSU Football offers No. 3 cornerback from Louisiana, in high demand for his services

Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff made an offer to one of Louisiana’s top cornerbacks after Ruston (La.) star Aidan Anding got the call Friday night.

Anding, the No. 3-ranked cornerback in the Bayou State, has been a prospect on LSU’s radar in recent months with recruiting guru Frank Wilson making calls.

There has been some chatter around the lack of defensive back talent in the 2025 class for the Tigers, with LSU losing a commitment from Louisiana’s No. 1 cornerback, Jaboree Antoine, earlier this week.

Now, LSU has reached out to Anding and offered him a scholarship, but could it be too little, too late?

The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder was expected to reveal his college decision this weekend, but will now push back his commitment date, a source told LSU Country.

Anding, one of the Bayou State’s top athletes, earned all-state honors in football, basketball and track. A true phenom, LSU is ramping up its campaign with significant buzz from another SEC program.

The Texas Longhorns had all the momentum heading into the weekend with Steve Sarkisian and Co. fully ahead to tap Anding’s services, but now the hometown program has stepped up.

LSU Country will likely register a prediction for the Tigers to win here for Anding’s services once the dust settles with the Tigers looking to have him on campus this summer.

We’ve already seen On3 Sports recruiting expert Billy Embody make a prediction in favor of LSU as they look to lock down the Louisiana star.

The LSU staff will host its annual Bayou Splash recruiting event in late July, with the Tigers hoping to welcome Anding to town alongside several of America’s top prospects.

As it stands, LSU has lost the commitment of Jaboree Antoine, but they will turn up the heat late this season to win him back. While he is an uncommitted player at this point, it is still expected that the Tigers could ultimately snag him before the early signing period in December.

Kelly and Co. will look to revamp the secondary over the next few months with no cornerback commitments yet, but with Anding and Antoine moving their way, the next few weeks will be important in securing their services.

LSU is also very much in the mix for the No. 1 cornerback in America: DJ Pickett.

Pickett, the highest-ranked defensive back in the 2025 cycle, took an official visit to LSU in early June before a busy summer of traveling across the country.

LSU had the first chance to land the five-star phenom and will continue to turn up the heat by making it known it could move up his commitment date from the original late fall plan.

Secondary coach Corey Raymond has his work cut out for him, but with Anding, Antoine and Pickett being three names to know at this point, and most certainly being worked on behind the scenes, he will look to bring home an impressive 2025 class if all goes well. passes accordingly.

LSU Country will have the latest news on LSU’s 2025 recruiting class with several dominoes expected to fall sooner or later.
