Boston Harbor Festival

Boston Harborfest, one of the nation’s largest Fourth of July festivals, returns to Boston Harbor and downtown Boston for its 42nd year.n/a edition from July 1 to 4. This long-running festival, which celebrates Boston’s revolutionary history and everyday vibrancy, will feature dozens of events and activities, including live performances, historical re-enactments, integration with US Navy Week, fires fireworks and much more. Take a Historical Walk – Taxes, Liberty, Independence

“Taxes, freedom, independence” What does this mean along the Boston waterfront and beyond? Join Friends of the Boston Harborwalk and Liz Nelson Weaver, Tuesday July 2 at 5:30 p.m.. for a one-hour tour of the waterfront district to explore Revolutionary War themes. The tour begins promptly at the Boston Harbor Islands Welcome Center on the Greenway. Registration required.

The USS Constitution is scheduled to depart from the Charlestown Navy Yard on July 4th at 10:00 a.m. in honor of Independence Day! The USS Constitution cruise will be visible from the Boston Harborwalk, Castle Island, and Charlestown Navy Yard. There will be a 21-gun salute visible from Fort Independence on Castle Island at approximately 11:30 a.m. While you’re at Castle Island, you might as well grab some lunch or ice cream at Sullivan’s! The move will commemorate the 248th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular

On July 4 at 8 p.m., the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will take place along the Esplanade, with a concert at the Hatch Shell. Musical guests include Darlene Love, The Mavericks, Kelli O’Hara and more.. The Charles River Fireworks Show starts at 10:30 p.m., but you’ll need to arrive when the event gates open at 12 p.m. to reserve a spot. Good speed. Are you heading to the Esplanade? Read this first!
