Reign and Kings fans, here is a message from me to you!

Dear Reign/Kings/Hockey Royalty fans,

As the AHL and NHL seasons end this past Monday, another season is in the books! My third season (the second complete) is now history. I’ve been planning to write this for a while, but since my last semester of school was ending around the time the season of Reign ended and I was spending time with family and friends, I’m finally here reached.

Since the end of the Ontario Reign season to now, I have received a few thanks for the Reign coverage I provided to Hockey Royalty during the season. While I am not affiliated with the Reign in any capacity, I am very grateful for the support and membership I have received.

Before I start thanking, I would like to tell you a little story. Before the season started, I received a message on Twitter/X from someone who wanted to cover the Los Angeles Kings for the Sporting Tribune website (I will keep the person’s name confidential). I thought about it and was about to do it, but realized I wasn’t ready for this workload while I was still in school. Ultimately, I stayed with Hockey Royalty and wanted to improve my coverage and skills. In the end, I think I made the right decision. Will another opportunity present itself? We’ll see, but I’m happy with my current situation.

First off, I would like to thank Russell Morgan, Joe Patarino, and Ryan Sikes for allowing me to join a wonderful team at Hockey Royalty in January 2022. I was very fortunate to join an incredible team, and it is something I will never take for granted. I will always be grateful for taking a chance on them and will make sure to never let them down.

Second, I would like to thank Reign Insider and Media Relations Manager Jared Shafran for allowing me to attend the matches with a press pass for Reign home matches of my choice. Mr. Shafran always helped me with any help I needed. I would not have had the opportunity to provide in-match analysis and post-match quotes from the players and Marco Sturm without him.

Lastly, I want to thank YOU! Your support and following for my coverage on the Reign and the Hockey Royalty website means a lot. Even though I don’t attend every game, I attend every Reign game in the stands or on AHLTV if I’m not in the press box, and I always look forward to providing you with great coverage and game recaps. You deserve it! Over the last two seasons, I never anticipated getting as many fans as I have and I owe you a lot of time.

While summer is here, my off-season goal is to prepare and improve for the 2024-25 season. There is always something to improve. Next season will be the 10th AHL season in Reign history, so let’s make it a good one!

Your friend,

Kyle Garcia
