Kanye West in Moscow to party and meet Putin according to locals

Kanye West is in Moscow to celebrate the birthday of Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, creative director of his Yeezy brand.

Rubchinskiy is also involved in Kanye’s music career: he helped design Kanye’s artwork The vultures, the rapper’s joint album with Ty Dolla $ign.

Kanye is also reportedly in the Russian capital to prepare for a show and meeting with President Vladimir Putin amid geopolitical tension, unfazed by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

Russian influencer Yana Rudkovskaya shared the news on her Telegram channel.

“Kanye West is already in Moscow! This is great news! He stopped in the heart of the capital! Fingers crossed for the Luzhniki show! I bet if it happens, 80,000 (tickets) will be sold in three days. Okay. A week at the most,” she wrote.

Venue representatives said they had no information about such an upcoming performance.

Meanwhile, the media are making a lot of noise about the possibility of a meeting between the West and Putin.

This potential meeting is all the more intriguing since the Russian president has expressed mixed feelings about the influence of hip-hop.

In 2018, Putin acknowledged the genre’s growing popularity in Russia, but advised caution.

“This is part of culture, this is part of our common culture, so it must be treated with great caution,” Putin said at a meeting with the Presidential Council for Culture and Art in St. Petersburg.

He added: “If it is impossible to stop, then one must navigate and guide accordingly. »

West’s willingness to perform in Russia stands in stark contrast to the hesitance of many Western artists to visit the country due to ongoing military actions in Ukraine.
