Man stabbed multiple times in Jackson after trying to break up argument

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A 41-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the torso after trying to break up an argument between a couple Monday night.

Jackson County Police and Fire Department Director Elmer Hitt said officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Moorman Dr. Monday night.

Hitt said the investigation revealed that an argument occurred between a 21-year-old man and woman. A third person, identified as a 41-year-old man, approached the young man and a physical altercation ensued between the two men.

During the altercation, the elderly man was stabbed multiple times in the torso, Hitt said. He was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery to treat his injuries. He is in critical but stable condition.

Hitt did not provide further details about what caused the argument between the man and woman or between the two men.

Hitt said the 21-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail.
