Shanghai Pudong Airport opens one-stop integrated service center for foreigners

(Yicai) July 1 — Shanghai Pudong International Airport has started testing a one-stop integrated service center for inbound international passengers at Terminal 2 to make it easier for foreigners to stay in the city.

The center, which opened on June 29, provides one-stop payment, cultural tourism, communication and transportation services, Shanghai Special Economic Zone Pudong New Area announced yesterday.

The payment service offers foreigners easy payment options, including assistance with downloading mobile payment apps and advice on changing currencies. Additionally, self-service ATMs and currency exchange machines accept five major international bank cards and 20 foreign currencies.

The communications service bureau provides seven-day, 15-day and 30-day mobile cards to international passengers arriving in Shanghai for a short stay, allowing them to make calls, surf the Internet and use taxi apps and takeaway meals.

The transportation service bureau offers travel advice and sells, recharges and refunds anonymous ShanghaiPass cards. The cards can be used for travel and at cultural and tourist sites, shopping malls and supermarkets in the city.

The Cultural Tourism Bureau offers the latest information on activities in Shanghai, promotes travel plans and provides advice on accommodation.

One-stop integrated service centers for foreigners at Pudong Airport Terminal 1 and Hongqiao International Airport are under construction and are expected to open in October.
