Paris Saint-Germain set to break world transfer record by signing Lamine Yamal from Barcelona – Paper Round

PSG prepares record offer for Yamal

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a “world record” transfer bid for Barcelona and Spain teenager Lamine Yamal, according to a report.

The Mirror claims PSG are reportedly launching a bid worth £211million for the 16-year-old, who is currently in Germany representing his country at Euro 2024.

In August 2017, PSG reportedly paid Barcelona £200 million for Neymar.

“Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a world record transfer for 16-year-old Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal,” writes the Mirror.

“Widely regarded as one of the biggest prospects in world football, Yamal has many admirers and reports from Spain claim PSG are preparing a world record bid for the teenager as they consider replacing Kylian Mbappe.

“In March, Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed that the club had rejected a €200m (£169m) bid for Yamal from an unnamed club.

“It has since been widely reported that the club in question was PSG and Mundo Deportivo now report that they are prepared to increase their offer for Yamal to €250m (£211m). That would be a new world record, beating the €222m (£198m) they paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017.”

Dewsbury-Hall joins Chelsea in £30m deal

Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for a reported £30million.

Reports claim the midfielder will sign a six-year contract with the Blues in a major blow for Brighton.

“The Blues are close to acquiring Dewsbury-Hall for £30million, according to The Athletic,” writes The Sun.

“He has agreed personal terms on a six-year contract.

“Dewsbury-Hall was set to move to Brighton earlier this week.

“The Seagulls had agreed a deal worth around £25 million plus Poland international Jakub Moder.

“The procedure was at a sufficiently advanced stage for Moder to travel to Brighton for medical tests.

“But the deal fell through after Dewsbury-Hall learned of Chelsea’s interest.”

Chelsea beat Manchester United to signing defender

Chelsea are also reportedly ready to complete the £14million signing of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino, according to The Sun.

The outlet claims the Blues beat Manchester United to capture the 19-year-old’s signature.

However, Anselmino would not arrive in England for another six months.

“Chelsea beat Manchester United to signing Argentinian wonderkid – but they’ll have to wait for his arrival,” the article read.

“We revealed in May how the Blues were looking to snatch Boca Juniors ace Aaron Anselmino, 19, from under United’s noses.

“The Red Devils had been scouting him for months and were first linked with a move to Old Trafford and then to AC Milan earlier this year.

“The 6ft 2in defender made his senior debut for Boca just over a year ago, just months after signing his first professional contract.

“That package included a release clause – which now appears to have been honoured by Chelsea.

“And the Premier League side have now convinced him to join them after a £14million offer was accepted.

“However, Boca Juniors are expected to keep the ace for at least another six months, according to reports.

“That’s because he looks set to stay with them on loan until the end of their domestic season.”
