The Miami Heat’s Next Undrafted Gem

Does the story of a Florida Gator to an undrafted Miami Heat player sound familiar? Well, here’s the next one. Point guard Zyon Pullin has officially signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat after going undrafted. This may be the Heat’s next developmental success story.

Pullin spent his first four seasons at UC Riverside before transferring to Florida to play under head coach Todd Golden in his final collegiate season. This year with the Gators, Pullin averaged 15.5 points and 5 assists and was an efficient three-point shooter (45%). He received first-team All-SEC honors, helping Florida earn its first March Madness appearance since 2021.

Standing at 6’4″, Pullin has excellent size for a point guard and can create his shots. Pullin’s strength is that he is an excellent passer who rarely loses the ball, as he set the school record with an assists-to-turnover ratio of 3.77. Pullin is also a smart defender who can defend both physical and fast players.

While Pullin may not be the most explosive point guard, his potential in the NBA is undeniable. If he can maintain a decent three-point shooting volume and improve his finishing at the rim, as well as his passing ability, you could definitely see him become a valuable playmaker in the NBA, similar to the role played by Tyus Jones at Memphis.
