Levi’s and McLaren Racing launch heritage-inspired collection

Since the launch of the revolutionary 501 jean, widely known as the first pair of blue jeans, Levi’s has continued to find new ways to innovate its most beloved garments while staying true to its heritage. In the exciting world of motor racing, McLaren Racing has continued to innovate and elevate its prestige cars without sacrificing their undeniable elegance. Bringing the two icons together for the first time, the new Levi’s x McLaren Racing collection represents the best of heritage and innovation.

The Levi’s x McLaren Racing collection includes a racing jacket, racing suit, racing gloves, Heritage Trucker, Heritage 501 jeans, constructor tee and racing bandana. Inspired by the spirit of McLaren Racing’s vintage era, the cropped, boxy racing jacket features a chainstitched embroidered logo on the back and twill taping at the cuffs and hem. Finished in a light wash, the jacket is finished with a satin lining and a co-branded embossed vegetable-tanned leather patch.

Offered in the same light wash, the racing suit has a slightly dropped crotch and a loose fit with a straight leg. Featuring vintage-inspired patches and a cracked print on the right leg, as well as the same co-branded patch, the suit has a vegetable-tanned leather zip that runs down the centre front. The tri-colour racing gloves, inspired by vintage McLaren Racing archive graphic posters, use colours from McLaren’s classic colour palette and feature perforation patterns for added breathability. Crafted from Italian leather and featuring a Levi’s upper for a snap closure, the gloves feature an embroidered signature of McLaren Racing founder Bruce McLaren and an embossed McLaren logo.

Featuring vintage-inspired patches on the left and right chest, these cropped, boxy Heritage Trucker jeans feature a medium wash and pleats at the elbows. The center front zip is reinforced with red tape while the co-branded red rear patch references classic McLaren cars from the 80s. For the first time for this historic garment, the Heritage 501 jeans replace the left rear pocket with an ombre pocket with a crackle print as well as a red tape zipped welt pocket at the top.

Paying homage to McLaren Racing heritage, the jeans feature vintage-inspired patches and a co-branded red back patch. The constructor tee features a graphic print on the front of an 80s McLaren race car. And finally, the racing bandana reinterprets Levi’s classic western motifs through a racing lens with 80s McLaren graphics.
