Police recover gun thrown by man fleeing police during traffic stop near Clifford Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Monday at 5:20 p.m., police responded to Culver Road and Parsells Avenue and found evidence of gunshots being fired as well as damage to a vacant building.

During the investigation, police discovered that a car may have been involved in the shooting. Police located the car on Clifford Avenue and conducted a traffic stop near Clifford and Barons Street.

A 19-year-old man fled the traffic stop. During the chase, he discarded a firearm, which was recovered by police. The man and the others in the car were taken into custody.

Police have not yet determined whether the people in the car are connected to the shooting on Culver Road. Charges have not yet been determined.

Police are still asking anyone with information to call 911.
