Woman uses taekwondo to fight off bike thief in Luton

A mother who used taekwondo moves to stop a thief from stealing her motorbike has said she felt “abandoned” by police.

Xristina, 31, subdued the robber, pretending to be a 12-year-old boy, to the ground in Hatters Way retail park in Luton, but released him after 10 minutes when no support had arrived.

The black belt said a police car had driven by the scene earlier and only returned after the robber fled.

Bedfordshire Police said an investigation into the incident, which happened last week, was ongoing.
