HPD DWI Task Force Announces Initiative to Combat Drunk Driving Ahead of July 4th Holiday

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department’s DWI Task Force announces an initiative to combat drunk driving ahead of the Fourth of July.

Officials say the initiative will be conducted in collaboration with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

As Independence Day celebrations approach, HPD and its partners are stressing the importance of making safe choices and avoiding driving under the influence of alcohol.

On Tuesday, law enforcement officials will hold a press conference to share more details about what will happen this week.
