Max Boxing – News – Get ready for the new sheriff in town

The new order of boxing is finally here. Fans and some media outlets have complained about the inactivity of champions and top-rated professional boxers with once-a-year appearances from cats like Gary Russell, Bud and GGG once he got Canelo’s money. The Charlos, once they drank a lot of money, Andy Ruiz, Thurman, etc. NOW I hear moaning because the New Power Brokers – the Saudis, will force 95% of the champions to fight – 2-3 times a year, minimum. Turki Alalshikh is the town’s new sherrif. He has the wealth of the Saudi royal family behind him. Unlimited petrodollars! Fighters who try to take advantage of the system and fight once a year will immediately become obsolete, within a year! What about the current generation of boxing “types” who don’t like that?

Damage. It’s going to happen. Right away. Fighting the Hype Paul Magno exclaims that such a formula will not work: “It will only last 18 months.” By his calculations, after facing and exchanging fights with the champions and the top 2-3 in each division, the most interesting fights will have been exhausted. He claims that world boxing lacks depth. For example, the 130-pound fighters will exchange dance partners, and the division will “shrink.” He racks his brain trying to do the math. The Saudis and I are doing the math.

Once any of them The best attractions of the division “thin out”: players will simply migrate to another division and compete with fresh meat. The typical 118 pounds will go down to either 115 or 122. Three to five pounds, no problem. Bigger jumps are needed for fighters north of 140. From 47 to 68, it will be seven or eight pounds. But these cats have a larger build than the little ones, and therefore the effect of the jumps will be the same as that experienced by the little ones. So that should make for some exciting fights for another 18 months, right?

So it’s three years of great fights. But guess what? Coming from the international amateur pool, the top shelves can be replenished in three years. How? The fighters who come in do their best by fighting every two months. So, six fights in three years equals 18 fights. The elite stables will be reconstituted. After 18 fights, no need to hang around. Get in the mix with the big dogs…or the Saudis will sideline them. New sheriff. New ecosystem. FINALLY !

These Saudis have the money to buy out Arum and his son-in-law, uncle and Oscar, Hearn and Frank Warren, without even blinking an eye. Let’s not be stupid. They took the best golfers in the PGA, right? The tour was organized, planned and tight. The Saudis hit the best players with greenbacks and defected so quickly that golf’s collective head turned. I lost a billion dollars like it was stale popcorn. They can certainly buy out boxers who are, for the most part, uneducated. Their managers and many promoters aren’t the sharpest pencils in the box either: Exhibit A: Oscar.

These Saudi cats are going to set up a model of control by either buying shares in the sanctioning bodies… or buying them out… or overpaying and grinding the competition into dust, rendering the most staunch heroes useless. Money talks and bullshit walks. You can bet the alphabetical sanctioning bodies know their goose is cooked. So don’t be surprised when we see the Saudis usurp total control over them at lightning speed. Top stock markets have a way of attracting action.

The smart play for the boxing media is to go in Saudi Arabia and go to the Crawford fight in Los Angeles and meeting Saudi boss Turki and his team. Can a person go to Turki? Try. Fortune favors the brave. Wake up and connect with the Saudis. Who knows who you will meet and who will have influence. It could be an assistant who happens to be Turki’s son! Why wouldn’t a member of the media want to deal with the obvious new bosses of the sport you’re tasked with covering? Turki could fund a powerful media company to serve and praise his company. Maybe he finances a few satellite news channels? Come on everyone. It’s time to enjoy. The food at the boxing table has never looked so sumptuous and promising. Grab yourself a plate or starve.
