Ray J Posts Disturbing Message After Appearing at 2024 BET Awards

Ray J worried his fans after posting a disturbing account of his experience at BET Awards 2024.

On Monday morning, July 1, the artist-actor reposted photos of Power 105.1 Instagram in his own Instagram story with a lengthy description of what happened to him at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

“Then it all went wrong!” Ray J began. “First at #BET, then later too! I’m really at a breaking point!”

“These chain reactions are from being trapped in a false reality/being confused about this whole life!” he continued. “What happened to me tonight at the awards show hurt.”

Ray J was on hand since the pre-show festivities began earlier in the afternoon. During the live broadcast, the reality star said he was working backstage and took a break in the back when BET crew members reportedly wouldn’t let him in “for whatever reason.”

“I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see – it was weird – anyway I left and went back to shut up about my frustrations… The shit that’s going on is mind-blowing – it’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with my perception of reality! THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID IT! I FEEL BAD AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT!”

The message started to go downhill from there, with Ray J saying either before or right after I die… I promise you I’ll be (free) from all of this and the world can move on with what’s real to me, no matter what consequences I have to face on the other side!” He also apologized to his sister. Brandy and I said, “I’m not going to let them get away with this.”

Ray J’s post comes hours after footage surfaced that appears to show him getting into a verbal altercation with Zeus Network founder Lemuel Plummer. In the clip, you can see the two men in a heated conversation before Ray J attempts to take on Plummer. Watch the clip below.
