Driver stabs fellow motorist multiple times during escalating road fight in Ontario

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) — A driver aggressively stabbed another driver in what appears to be a major road rage incident in Ontario — and it was all caught on camera.

The incident happened Saturday around 2 p.m. between Holt Boulevard and Mountain Avenue. Police said it all started when a driver cut off another driver.

According to multiple videos obtained by Eyewitness News, the confrontation quickly escalated.

Road rage incident caught on video

Surveillance video from one of the businesses at the intersection shows a white SUV pulling into the parking lot. That’s when the driver gets out and begins gesticulating and yelling at the driver of a silver SUV across the street.

At that point, the driver of the silver SUV waits for traffic to clear, then drives straight into the parking lot, parking right next to the white SUV.

The driver gets out, walks toward the white SUV and appears to try to hit the driver.

It seems to happen at least twice.

Eventually, the driver of the SUV gets back into his vehicle and attempts to leave the scene. That’s when a woman who was in the white SUV appears to get out, attempting to record video on her cellphone.

The driver of the silver SUV drives away – but it’s not over yet.

Driver stabbed as confrontation escalates

As the silver SUV drives off, the driver of the white SUV starts following it. Another camera from another company filmed the action from there, showing the driver of the white SUV getting out of the vehicle.

The driver of the silver SUV – who was in front of him – then made an illegal U-turn in the middle of the street, appearing to try to corner the white SUV in the street.

This is where the violence escalates.

A cellphone video, which has since been posted to TikTok, shows the driver of the silver SUV crashing into the white SUV.

The driver of the white SUV, who is wearing a white T-shirt and pants, then returns fire. He is seen holding a knife in his right hand. Suddenly, he approaches the driver of the silver SUV and stabs him multiple times.

The driver was injured but did not need to be taken to hospital. The man armed with the knife fled the scene but was later arrested.

Ontario Police Corporal Josh Luster said if you find yourself in a situation like this, don’t try to resolve it yourself. Instead, call 911.

“You don’t want to talk to these people, especially when they’re in such an emotional state of mind,” he said. “Look at the incident on Saturday, how it escalated so quickly.”
