Wear white to send a message to the Supreme Court on July 4th. A nation wide whiteout!

So the conservatives on the Supreme Court think they have figured out a way to “split the baby” with today’s decision on Presidential immunity. A compromise of sorts, which allows them to demand deference from the public because they are supposedly still the only branch of government that is above petty political squabbles. They simply interpret the Constitution objectively. They never climb into the muddy political trenches with the other two branches of government. That may be the case with today’s decision. I’m not a lawyer. But when it comes to maintaining deference for this Supreme Court there is one thing I know for sure. The timing of this decision deserves as much, if not more, outrage from the public.
It is obvious that Roberts delayed this decision for the benefit of one political party and one man. I expect ideological differences in Supreme Court decisions, but slow walking this decision is so blatantly partisan that the Roberts Court no longer deserves any level of deference from the American people.
We need to let them know. My idea is simple, but we don’t have a lot of time. If you are attending any public July 4th events, don’t wear the normal Red, White, and Blue. Just white. White is still patriotic and it can also send the message that we are worried about where this Supreme Court is taking our democracy.
Spread the word on other social media. Get the word out. This is a peaceful statement that shows we are paying attention and this Supreme Court has lost our respect. Let’s see a sea of white across this country on July 4th. Take pictures and share!
