The actor revealed that he was unable to walk and was fighting for his life.

Foxx has now been filmed in Phoenix, sharing the horror of his ordeal with fans.

He revealed that it all started with “a severe headache” and that he woke up almost three weeks later with no memory of it.

The star said: “I was away for 20 days.”

He also recounted how his sister and her daughter took him to two doctors and the second one told him: “(There is) something going on up there,” pointing to his head.

But he said he would not reveal any further information on camera.

The actor had already opened up in December 2023 about how he had “seen the tunnel but not the light” during his near-death experience.

It happened during his first public appearance, at the Critics Choice Association event, after being hospitalized.

He bravely revealed more about his health issues in his acceptance speech after receiving the Vanguard Award at the association’s Celebration of Film and Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievement.

Foxx said: “You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do this six months ago.

“I actually couldn’t walk.

“I want to thank everyone. I went through something, I went through some things.

“I cherish every minute now, it’s different, I wouldn’t wish what I’ve been through on my worst enemy because it’s hard when it’s almost over, when you see the tunnel.

“I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see the light.

“It was hot in that tunnel too, I didn’t know where I was going. ‘Shit, am I going to the right place?’”

He added: “I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art.”

A source previously told USWeekly: “Jamie is doing much better and is starting to feel like himself again.

“He’s not 100 percent and still takes things lightly, but he’s definitely on the road to recovery.

“Foxx is feeling really good and is looking forward to returning to work as soon as the time is right.”

The actor has returned to work on his upcoming Netflix film Back in Action, in which he plays the role of Matt.

Cameron Diaz stars alongside her as Emily, after the actress took a break from retirement to direct the film.

They play retired CIA agents trying to settle into family life.
