Burglar crew celebrates West Hollywood jewelry heist caught on camera

Surveillance footage shows thieves ransacking Huener jewelry store

A burglary crew took pride in a 24-hour heist at a West Hollywood jewelry store in mid-June that was caught on store cameras.

The robbery happened on June 17, Father’s Day, and targeted the store located in the 7900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. Robert Goukasian, co-owner of Huener’s Jewelry, said the thieves broke into the store around 3 a.m. and committed the robbery over a period of more than 24 hours.

In the video, the burglars can be seen hugging and patting each other on the shoulders while wearing masks. Robert Goukasian posted the video on the social network.

“It’s hard to watch, to see all this, almost like we’re being taken in front of our eyes,” Goukasian lamented.

It is not known why, but the alarm system did not alert the owners of the burglary. The thieves opened two safes, emptying them of their contents and all the merchandise on display.

“Both safes were opened and all your 40 years of work was gone,” Goukasian added.

The owners were alerted to the break-in around 4 a.m. when a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy called to inform them of the incident and advised them to go to their store.
