Report – Shane McMahon and Mercedes Mone meet in New York, AEW talks about it

Shane McMahon and Mercedes Mone met by chance in New York on Monday.

Pwinsider reports that multiple sources have confirmed that Mone and McMahon were both spotted at New York’s LaGuardia International Airport on Monday morning as they headed to separate flights.

The two chatted for a while and brought up All Elite Wrestling. At the time of writing, it’s unclear what they discussed regarding AEW or if she encouraged him to reach out to Tony Khan. As expected, Mone immediately informed several of his friends and colleagues about the meeting and word quickly spread.

As we previously reported here on eWn, Conrad Thompson recently revealed that he was told that Shane McMahon was interested in AEW. Multiple AEW officials and Tony Khan himself have stated that there have been no discussions at this time. That being said, “TK” has stated that Shane is “always welcome to AEW.”

It should be noted that McMahon, who lives in the New York area, was not backstage at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024.
