Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty involved in Oscars mix-up

Nominated for 14 awards, “La La Land” won best director for Damien Chazelle and best actress for Emma Stone. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced that the film had won the night’s top honor, but the crew was interrupted as they took the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and told there had been a mistake. In fact, “Moonlight” won best picture.

Warren took the time to read the winner’s name and explained that he had been given the wrong envelope.
