Sam Thompson Breaks Silence On ‘Crying’ Photos Amid Zara McDermott Split Rumors, Explains What Happened

SAM Thompson has broken his silence on ‘crying’ photos amid rumours he has split from Zara McDermott.

Last month, The Sun revealed the former Made In Chelsea star was left in tears during a televised awards ceremony after the Love Island favourite left her following a row.

Sam broke down at the Tric Awards in London, where he was nominated for his podcast Staying Relevant, and was seen being comforted by his best friend Pete Wicks.

Now, Sam has finally explained what really happened and why he was so emotional.

Speaking on his podcast, Sam said: “First of all, there’s no way around it.

“I had actually received bad newsso actually I was really sad, I’m not going to lie, but I was.”

Although he looked very sad, he confirmed that no tears were rolling down his cheeks.

Sam added: “I wasn’t crying, I wasn’t really crying. I just want everyone to know that now.

“There was a paparazzi photo that read ‘Sam Thompson in tears after THIS argument with girlfriend Zara’ after the Soccer Aid incident.

“They tied them both.”

The pair were pictured having a heated argument at this year’s Soccer Aid match.

Sam then broke his silence about the photos.

Speaking on his podcast, Sam said: “I think it’s time to get the elephant in the room out of the way. It’s huge.

“We need to quash these rumors before they start.

“There was an article about the Soccer Aid after-party where there were pictures of me and my lovely girlfriend Zara having what really looked like an argument – and I almost feel like it is when I know it’s not – (an argument).”

He continued: “We were photographed as if we were about to rip our throats out.

“It seems like I cheated on her, it’s that serious. She’s pointing the finger at me.”

Late last month, The Sun revealed the couple were in crisis talks in a bid to salvage their relationship.

Zara has reportedly packed her bags and left her London apartment.

A source close to the couple revealed they are now trying to reconcile after the huge row left Sam completely distraught.

They said: “Zara had a work commitment in Majorca but has now returned home to be with Sam and try to iron out their differences and have crisis talks.

“They really want to try to make this relationship work.”

The couple began dating in 2019.
