Real Madrid’s three-time winner receives $107 million Saudi offer

A key player in Real Madrid’s recent treble campaign has received a $107 million (€100 million) offer from Saudi Arabia, according to reports. The Chiringuitowhose guest Eduardo Inda cited anonymous sources during his appearance on the popular Spanish football program and reported the news.

Brahim Diaz joined Los Blancos from Manchester City in January 2022 for a bargain price of $19.6m (£15.5m) as he was already into the final six months of his contract at the time.

The fee could rise to what would still be a relative bargain of $27.8m (£22m) with add-ons, while City also retain a 15% share of any future sale and 40% if Madrid sell Brahim to “another Manchester club”, meaning rivals Manchester United according to The Guardian.

Brahim signed a two-year loan spell at AC Milan which proved to be very fruitful. The Italians won their first Serie A title since 2011 with him and also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since winning the competition in 2007.

It was no surprise that the youngster was recalled to his parent club in 2023, and Brahim has stepped up for former Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti by scoring important goals – such as the one away to RB Leipzig in the UCL round of 16 and in a Madrid derby draw against Atletico in La Liga – that contributed to a hat-trick.

It’s easy to conclude, however, that Brahim probably would have liked to have earned more playing time, as he was relegated to the background compared to players like Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham up front.

Perhaps wisely informed, an unnamed Saudi club attempted to test Brahim’s resolve with a tempting offer according to OK Diario director Eduardo Inda.

“Brahim Diaz will stay at Real Madrid, but he received an offer from Saudi Arabia to leave for four seasons and they would have paid him 100 million (euros) for those four years,” Inda explained on The Chiringuito.

“He decided to stay even though he knows that the competition will increase exponentially and that he will surely have fewer minutes, but he decided to bet on Real Madrid,” added Inda.

As Inda hinted, the competition for game time will only increase with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick in the Spanish capital for the 2024/25 campaign.

Brahim seems happy where he is, and with a contract until mid-2027, he can wait and see how things progress before making a hasty decision on possibly leaving one of the biggest clubs in the world.

HAS SPORTThe Catalan media also insists that Brahim has no intention of moving on at the moment.

That being said, his history of fleeing the Spanish national team and deciding to play for Morocco instead suggests he could eventually tire of his situation in Madrid if he is sidelined.
