Man arrested after being caught driving under the influence of drugs

A man has been arrested after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence of drugs.

Officers from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit stopped the motorist on Glasgow Road in Barrhead on Monday morning.

Police said the 27-year-old did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance.

He also allegedly failed a roadside drug test for cannabis.

The man was arrested in this connection.

A report was submitted to the tax prosecutor.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Early on Monday 1 July, police stopped a vehicle travelling on Glasgow Road, Barrhead.

“The 27-year-old driver had no valid license, no insurance and failed a roadside drug test for cannabis.

“The man was arrested and a report was filed with the procurator fiscal.”
