Lucky Ones Coffee has signed a five-year lease on the space connected to the Park City Library, bringing a fresh look to the space and functionality to the barista area.

The cafe is expected to reopen on Wednesday, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the renovated space tentatively scheduled for later in July.

“We’re hoping to be up and running on the 3rd and work out some kinks. We’ll be open on the 4th because that’s always one of the busiest days here,” co-owner Katie Manhart said. She explained that additional finishing touches will be added in the coming weeks before the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Plans are to work with the library and an interior designer to bring in new furniture and redesign the space overall.

“At first, when we took it all apart, we were like, ‘We’ll do it in a week,’ it was so cute and naive,” Manhart said.

After some challenges with plumbing repairs that required turning off the water to the entire library, and expeditions that included finding a refrigerator that had been lost in a Salt Lake City warehouse, Manhart and his team are excited to reopen.

Lucky Ones Coffee’s mission is to employ and empower people with disabilities. The company started with 10 employees when it opened six years ago and now has a second store in Kamas with a total of 29 employees.
