Our test of the L’Orient-Express room at Enigma 78:

A room that we were able to test, on a more or less pleasant Saturday afternoon. It is a room with a few particularities that we would like to make you aware of before attempting the adventure: here, no clues… well, there are some, but it is up to you to ask for them by pressing a button. Those who wish to challenge themselves will choose to use the button in question as little as possible, while beginners can press it at will. Note however that if you are stuck, the game Master will still be able to help you, even if you don’t press it (but only if you’re really, really stuck). This is a tough ride, so don’t hesitate to ask for help.

Another peculiarity is that the mechanisms are all automated, which may surprise today’s adventurers, as there is virtually no searching to do. So there is no need to turn the whole room upside down looking for a key or anything else, as everything is hidden in different, clearly visible, magnetically closed compartments, which will have to be opened by solving puzzles.

That said, let’s move on to the piece itself: the landscapewith its automated mechanisms, is quite minimalist, but no less immersive. From the first room, you are immersed in a train station, looking for artifacts and especially train tickets, which you will have to find to get on board. The other rooms are of the same ilk, simple in their decor, but very immersive, making the “journey” quite realistic. You will enjoy wandering through theOrient Express looking for the riddle you must solve to progress in the adventure.

And since we are on the subject of riddlestheir resolution is very fluid (compared to automated mechanisms), each one leading to another, and so on. A very good point, which prevents teams from wasting their time on fifteen puzzles at a time. Often easy to solve when you have a bit of guts, sometimes a bit more complex, everything is done in a very dynamic and fluid way. In short, we never get bored…

What more can I say? We barely managed to get out of the theater, we had only a few minutes left to finish this high-flying investigation. But it was well worth the effort, because The Orient Express is a very pretty room, and rather new in its design and in the approach to escape games in general. To be tested absolutely, in short… All you have to do is form your own opinion!

Also note that the room does not have a padlock, and is unfortunately not accessible to people with reduced mobility, due to the decoration. As the train prepares to leave the station, your adventure begins… Are you ready to take up the challenge and uncover the secrets of theOrient Expresspeople?
