Corvettes for Sale: 1965 Corvette Sport Coupe Listed on Craigslist in New York

Enthusiasts looking for a car that’s fun to drive—but not so fun that an OCD owner has to worry about it constantly—might be interested in this 1965 Corvette coupe listed on Craigslist out of the Empire State for $67,500.

This vintage Sting Ray isn’t completely original, which may prevent it from reaching the upper echelons of the collector world. But it also means a new owner may not have to be as paranoid about stone chips and scratches while driving on the road.

The original Milano Brown paint was refinished with Silver Pearl years ago, but is still said to be in excellent condition and really shows off the beautiful lines of this C2, according to the seller.

Likewise, the car’s body is in good condition, with the chassis described as rust-free and the birdcage rated as “excellent”.

The good news continues with the matching-numbers 327/300 horsepower engine that already underwent a rebuild in 2017 and is connected to a four-speed manual transmission. It’s not the maximum performance you can get from a C2, but it’s a nice step up from the base 327/250. The engine bay has been refreshed to stock specs with the reportedly correct shielding and air filter.

This example also includes some nice features like aluminum quick release wheels, wood steering wheel, AM/FM radio, tinted windshield, Positraction and a Comfort and Convenience Package with auto-dimming rearview mirror and backup lights.

The brown leather interior, meanwhile, is apparently not original as it is not mentioned on the reproduction window sticker, but it looks acceptable enough for a driver.

In preparation for sale, this car also received an oil change and lubrication, and the mechanic took it for a test drive, apparently to check for any issues that might require repair. It also passed a recent New York State inspection, so this Sting Ray should be ready for the new owner to enjoy right away.
