EastEnders and Emmerdale cancelled tonight due to schedule shake-up

Emmerdale and EastEnders will not air tonight (Tuesday 2 July), due to coverage of Wimbledon and the Euros on ITV and BBC One.

But when will Emmerdale and EastEnders return to TV screens?

When are EastEnders and Emmerdale on?

EastEnders and Emmerdale will not air on Tuesday, July 2. However, both soaps will return to TV screens on Wednesday, July 3.

To make up for Tuesday’s missed episode, a double episode of EastEnders will air on BBC One on Wednesday (July 3) from 7pm to 8pm. Two more episodes will then air on Thursday (July 4) after the soap was pulled from its usual slot on Monday, July 1.

Soap fans eager to get their EE fix can also watch this week’s episodes on BBC iPlayer, with episodes airing Monday to Thursday at 6am.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale will also return on Wednesday, July 3, with a 30-minute episode airing from 7:30pm to 8pm. A one-hour episode of the ITV soap is set for Thursday, July 4, and another half-hour episode for Friday, July 5.

What’s happening in soap operas this week?

Major drama unfolds in Walford this week when Nugget collapses. EE viewers know the teenager has been using steroids with his best friend Denzel in the gym.

He is found unconscious in the park by Ravi, Avani and Vinny and taken to the hospital. Ravi and Priya are devastated when they learn that their son’s kidneys are not functioning properly.

The couple are also shocked to learn that Nugget is using steroids and when he wakes up later, he has to face questions from his family and the police about who supplied him with the drugs.

Will Nugget tell the whole story about what he and Denzel did?

In the Dales, Tom sets a new plan in motion and plots to get Belle away from the village, while Charity begins to grow suspicious of him and his behaviour.

Tom decides to agree to a secret interview for a job in a remote part of Wales. He explains to the interviewer that Belle would love to move.

Later, Tom tells Belle that he is taking her on vacation to a secluded cottage. She begins to like the idea and Tom is delighted that his plan is coming to fruition.

Will he succeed in keeping Belle away from the village?

Emmerdale usually airs on weekdays at 7:30pm, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. EastEnders usually airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
