Danville man arrested for gun, drug possession during traffic stop

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Danville man was arrested on multiple gun and drug charges after a traffic stop early Monday morning.

A Danville police officer noticed a vehicle violating the traffic laws around 1:15 a.m. Police attempted to stop the car at the intersection of South Gilbert and 2nd Street, but the driver refused to stop. He eventually pulled over in a parking lot near 9th Street and Highland Park Boulevard.


The driver was identified as Bryce Ross, 39. During the stop, Danville Police found evidence that led to criminal charges of aggravated unlawful use and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, fleeing an officer, possession of a controlled substance and methamphetamine, criminal driving while license suspended/revoked and driving under the influence of alcohol.
