Rebel Wilson Accuses Sacha Baron Cohen of Trying to ‘Silence’ Her

Rebel Wilson called Sacha Baron Cohen a “c*nt” and claimed he “tried to threaten” her into silence.

The 44-year-old actress revealed last week that an unnamed male celebrity was trying to block the publication of her upcoming memoir “Rebel Rising” – due out April 2 – and she has now identified the mystery person as her co-star in the 2016 film “The Brothers Grimsby.”

She wrote on her Instagram Story on Sunday (24.03.24): “I will not be intimidated or silenced by expensive lawyers or PR crisis managers.

“The “asshole” I talk about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.”

Her post followed one from a few days earlier, in which she said: “I wrote about an asshole in my book. Now said asshole is trying to threaten me. He’s hired a crisis PR person and lawyers.”

“He’s trying to keep the press from talking about my book. But the book will come out and you will all know the truth.”

Rebel has previously spoken out about being harassed by a male co-star who then tried to “destroy” her career.

She told People magazine in 2022: “(Years ago, a male co-star) called me into a room and pulled down his pants. It was horrible and disgusting.

“And all the behavior that followed — this was all before #MeToo — where they were kind of trying to destroy me and my career. If this had happened after #MeToo, I could have just criticized them.

However, Rebel – who trained as a lawyer before turning to acting – was careful to “document” the alleged incident at the time and insisted that while the behaviour was “gross”, other women have had “worse” experiences.

She said: “As a lawyer, I documented the case. I called my representative. I got some things in writing about what happened. In professional circles, I made sure people knew what happened.”

“Why did I stay in that situation…with that horrible guy? I should have left. It wasn’t worth it. But at the same time, I was like, ‘Okay, do the right thing, be professional and finish the movie.’ I would never do that.”

“I thought just complaining to my agency was a big step. And complaining to the studio. I found out I was the fourth person to complain about this guy. Such rude behavior, but many women have been through much worse situations.”
