Nine Entertainment Partners with Silver Trak Digital for Enhanced Media Room Solution

Nine Entertainment has partnered with Silver Trak Digital to revamp its Nine Media Room website, a platform for critics and media contacts to access pre-release assets.

Silver Trak Digital’s new Media Room solution was selected after Nine Entertainment evaluated solutions used by other members of the Nine family and industry competitors.

“Once we completed our evaluation and assessment, it became clear that the Silver Trak Media Room solution was the perfect fit for our needs,” said Matthew Benson of Nine Entertainment. The new Media Room needed to deliver a Brand Portal experience for media partners, securely host video assets and selectively control access to those assets among users.

The new media room includes the latest security features, a seamless transition for external viewing, a rebuilt user interface and back-end functionality, and authoring capability for business and support users to upload, organize and manage content.

“The Silver Trak Media Room is the foundation of the new platform. Now, content is uploaded by Nine Entertainment staff or other authorized contributors into the Media Room, where Media Room’s enhanced media management features allow for easy media management. The content is then assembled in the Media Room and, once complete, can be saved or immediately published to the Nine Media Room website, with additional content added at any time,” explained Christian Christiansen, COO of Silver Trak Digital.

The system integrates secure playback, studio-grade DRM protection, dynamic watermarking, login permissions, multi-factor authentication and multi-level user permissions. Content is uploaded by Nine Entertainment staff or other authorized contributors to Media Room, where it can be managed, assembled and published on the Nine Media Room website.

“Once assets and media are bundled into a program, the Nine Publicity team can rest assured that viewing of video assets is secured via DRM and individual watermarking and that usage and consumption can be tracked,” Benson added.

The new Nine Media Room custom platform has been well received by the Nine team, with improvements to interface performance, search capability and secure presentation of video assets with custom watermarking per user.

“The performance of the interfaces and the ability to search for assets or users is a huge improvement. Other features, such as the selection tools, have a certain appeal and the ability to provide secure presentation of video assets with a personalized watermark per user is a real step forward,” Benson said.

Silver Trak Digital recently won the APB+ award for its Media Room-based Cinema Direct 5G content management and delivery solution for the second consecutive year.
