Nigerians can be unfair in their criticism of footballers – Oshoala

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has spoken out on the criticism footballers face in Nigeria, saying it can sometimes be unfair.

News from the Guardians Oshoala, in an interview with TheCable, acknowledged that playing for the national team involved scrutiny but stressed that some of the comments may be unfounded.

“Sometimes I feel like they’re not being fair, but at the end of the day, it’s a type of responsibility that I’m in at the level that I’m in right now,” Oshoala said.

Despite the pressure and expectations, Oshoala remains focused on enjoying the game. “I don’t have any pressure. I had this conversation with my psychologist the other day, and he said that for me, it’s all about enjoyment. Whatever I do in football, I want to make sure I enjoy it.”

Oshoala is expected to represent Nigeria at the Paris Olympics in July, where the Super Falcons will face a tough Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Brazil.

Despite the challenge, Oshoala is confident in his team’s resilience and determination to qualify for the next round.
