Former journalist Shamima Muslim has criticised the New Patriotic Party government for what she calls “manipulation of the Ghanaian people”.

She accuses the government of postponing problems instead of addressing them directly.

In a Facebook post, she sarcastically suggests that Ghanaians should “restructure” their financial transactions in response to the government’s handling of the economy, mirroring the language used by officials.

His message says:

GHANAIANS MUST RESTRUCTURE AND UNDERSTAND THEIR PAIN AND DIFFICULTIES!

…the Gospel according to NanaBawumiah

…hope returns, postpone your pain today for a pleasant tomorrow.

At this rate, we all have to restructure our existing pains and difficulties.

Please, when you go out to purchase an item, tell the seller that you want to restructure the payment; in fact, tell him that you are implementing price reductions – he can take it or leave it.

Add that when you receive money later, you will come and fulfill your obligations.

Until then, whatever you say you feel, you don’t feel.

This is the word of MEN… let us rejoice and be happy in it.

Muslim’s comments follow the finance minister’s recent media intervention regarding the state of the economy. His message uses humour and irony to express his discontent and calls for more direct action from the government.
