LeBron James Willing to Take Pay Cut With Lakers to Make Room for DeMar DeRozan

LeBron James is willing to earn less on his next contract with the Los Angeles Lakers so the team can potentially acquire DeMar DeRozan, sources tell The Athletic’s Jovan Buha.

James was willing to do the same for a potential Klay Thompson deal.

DeRozan, who is expected to leave the Bulls this offseason, could join the Lakers either on a non-taxpayer mid-level exception or a sign-and-trade deal.

DeRozan is also considering signing a one-year contract at a lower price.
