El Paso Water’s Biggest Mistake Ever: Letters to the Editor

El Paso Water’s Biggest Mistake Ever

I find it hilarious that El Paso Water had to hire an outside agency to help build customer trust in the company. Why not make decisions that will inspire trust on their own?

Fewer rate hikes, no closure of El Paso’s busiest streets for projects, and the biggest blunder – not moving your headquarters downtown when that’s what the taxpayers wanted. The funny thing is, you didn’t hire an El Paso company, you hired a San Antonio company, but yeah, go ahead and spend our $1.2 million on that.

Biden, it’s no for me

After President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance with Donald Trump, it’s time for Biden to step aside. Democrats should look for another presidential candidate before it’s too late.

Think about the voters, many of them will not vote for Biden or Trump. Biden gets a negative vote from me.

There are good candidates, young and intelligent, who will be good presidents or vice presidents, like Hakeem Jeffries, Cory Booker and Amy Klobuchar. They will be able to stand up to Donald Trump.

Trump, what exactly is your plan?

During the presidential debate, the previous president failed to answer three important questions. First, how he planned to round up all the asylum-seeking migrants and deport them. Second, what he planned to do to stop the fentanyl trade. Third, what he planned to do to reduce child care costs.

Instead of answering those questions, he just kept repeating that the border wouldn’t be a problem if he were president, and that the invasion of Ukraine wouldn’t have happened if he were president. If you know what his plans are because you’re a Republican Party insider, let us know. I’m curious to know what he’s going to do.

More: President Biden Sets Record for Judicial Nominations: Carl Tobias

Columnist Tobias missed his target

In a recent op-ed, legal scholar Carl Tobias pointed out that President Joe Biden has approved 200 federal judges, which is a fact. It is also true that he reached that “milestone” on May 22, 2024, while Donald Trump didn’t reach that number of nominations until June 3 of his final year in office. Now, let me count real quick: yes, that’s a difference of 12 days. Wonderful! The author then obsequiously goes on to use these examples as examples of Biden’s “masterful and robust leadership.” It’s been an interesting few years under Biden’s, uh, leadership; but “masterful” and “robust” are not adjectives he could touch with a 10-foot pole. Ridiculous. Absurd.
