Empoli consider signing Inter Milan goalkeeper

Serie A side Empoli are considering signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andrei Radu this summer.

This is what the Italian channel Sky Sport Italia reports, via FCInterNews.

Inter goalkeeper Radu spent last season on loan at Bournemouth.

However, it was far from a successful loan spell for the Romanian.

Radu has struggled to find game time at the Vitaly Stadium, so it was no surprise that the Cherries declined to exercise a purchase option and sign him permanently.

Radu has been loaned out several times since joining Inter.

The Romanian had played for clubs like Cremonese and Troyes in the first and second halves of the 2022-23 season respectively.

In the meantime, Radu also played with Genoa in Serie A.

The question now is whether Radu will be the next to leave, given that Bournemouth will not bring him back to the Premier League.

Inter will almost certainly have to sell the 26-year-old permanently.

Radu’s current contract with Inter expires at the end of next June, so the Nerazzurri would have to extend his deal if they were to loan him out.

It has been reported that Inter are considering selling Radu to a Saudi Pro League club.

The Romanian had already been close to securing a loan from Al-Shabab in January. But this move failed for bureaucratic reasons.

Radu could, however, return to Serie A next season.

According to Sky, Empoli are considering a transfer of the Inter and Romania goalkeeper.

Last season, the Tuscan club had goalkeeper Elia Caprile on loan from Napoli.

However, it does not appear that Empoli will bring back the 22-year-old.

Empoli are therefore looking for a new goalkeeper this summer for new coach Ronberto D’Aversa.

According to Sky, Inter’s Radu is one of the candidates being considered by the Tuscans.
